When you set up Lunora, you may provide the following information to personalize your experience:
- Name — Used to personalize greetings within the app
- City and Country — Used to calculate accurate prayer times for your location
1.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device:
- Period tracking data — Cycle dates, mood entries, and symptom records
- Personal notes — Any notes you create within the app
- Gratitude notes — Entries in your gratitude journal
- Custom duas — Personal duas you save
- App preferences — Your settings and customizations
- Reading progress — Quran bookmarks and reading history
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect analytics or usage data
- We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs
- We do not track your location in the background
- We do not collect crash reports automatically
2. How We Use Your Information
The information you provide is used solely to deliver the app's core functionality:
- Name — Displayed in personalized greetings (e.g., "Assalamu Alaikum, [Name]")
- City and Country — Sent to the Aladhan API to calculate accurate prayer times for your location. The CountryStateCity API is used to provide location selection options
3. Third-Party Services
Lunora uses the following third-party APIs for core functionality only:
- Aladhan API (aladhan.com) — To fetch accurate prayer times based on your city and country. Only your city and country are sent to this service.
- CountryStateCity API — To provide a comprehensive list of countries and cities for location selection. No personal data is sent to this service.
We do not use any analytics services, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools.
4. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously, especially sensitive health information:
- Encrypted storage — Period tracking data and other sensitive health information is stored using encrypted local storage on your device
- On-device only — All personal data (notes, duas, period data, gratitude entries) is stored exclusively on your device using SharedPreferences with encryption for sensitive data
- No cloud sync — Your data is not synced to any cloud service or remote server
- No backups to our servers — We never receive or store copies of your personal data
Important: Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will permanently delete all your personal data. We recommend backing up any important notes before uninstalling.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third parties. Period. Your data stays on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Lunora does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is intended for use by individuals who can independently manage their spiritual practices.
7. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can:
- Access — View all your data directly within the app
- Modify — Edit or update any information at any time
- Delete — Remove any or all data through the app's settings, or by uninstalling the app
- Portability — Your data resides on your device and is under your control
